The day started with the snow continuing to come down at around 2cm per hour after an overnight dumping of around 30cm+ (12"+).

img 0031Once at Moiwa the lift line was bigger than normal with everyone anticipating great powder turns. Well...Everyone wasn't disappointed. It was steep and deep. More snowfalls forecast in the next couple of days again.

Today's Mt Yotei tour took our guests up the Niseko Hirafu WWN face of Mt Yotei until just below the tree line at around 1200m.

After the long approach from the closest carparking area, we began our hike up into the foothills through mature grow forests at the base of Mt Yotei.

With this aspect and the sheltered slopes we were able to find fresh snow in the trees to keep everyone happy.

Our guests enjoyed the deep tracks at Moiwa on one of our first Lift Access Backcountry tours of the season. NOASC runs daily tours so please give us a call and enquire about availabilty. You won't be sorry.

It doesn't get much better than this in the backcountry... first tracks, wide open turns with gret snow!

Our client's yesterday on our Mt Chizenupuri and Mt. Nitonupuri tour enjoyed some of the best conditions of this season. After a 2 hour hike up Chizenupuri, it was rewarded with first tracks down the north face toward Mt. Nitonupuri. After a quick bite to eat and slipping on our hiking seals it was back up to the top of Mt. Nitonupuri for the start of our afternoons runs. Contact NOASC for information on our backcountry tours.
